Lush vocals over spacey guitars and hard rocking rhythms, Voieces paints images of inspiration, life, love, loss, death and divinity through evocative lyrics and experimental sounds.

Welcome to the world of Voieces

Sylvain Medina

Sylvain Medina is a multi-instrumentalist from Halifax, Nova Scotia. While hitch-hiking through foreign lands, he bought a ukulele and started playing around with it and creating melodies. Eventually these melodies became the seeds of songs for Voieces. The debut EP Reception is an exciting blend of soaring vocal harmonies, thoughtful lyrics and lush guitars. It tells the semi-biographical story of moving from a place of comfort to a place of uncertainty in order to face challenges and develop as a human being, ultimately focusing entirely on making a positive impact in the world.

What’s The Point Of It All?

I’ve spent most of my life looking high and low for inspiration. I’ve travelled. I’ve tried. I’ve tested. And I’ve discovered that the secret to happiness has a lot less to do with where you’ve been and what you’ve done and a lot more to do with who you are, at the core. I try my best to have my music represent both who I am and who I want to be and most importantly, the intersection between those two points.
